Hosted in St. Andrews, NB and on Deer Island, NB, the Lobster Academy offers a unique educational opportunity that bridges the production environment with the natural environment and connects buyers with communities. Specifically, the Lobster Academy is dedicated to increasing the value of Homarus americanus worldwide through quality education and discovery for lobster buyers, importers and other industry opinion leaders.
East Coast Seafood/Paturel International will continue to offer a series of these inbound customer missions over the next several years. Lobster Academy combines lectures with facility tours/demonstrations, topics reflecting industry issues like traceability, sustainability certification, demand, pricing issues, processing, regulatory needs and marketing opportunities. Classes are kept to a maximum of 20 people and will continue to include representatives from domestic and international food service, retail, and distributors.
The premiere Lobster Academy event was held October 14th - October 17th, 2009 and was met with great success! We believe that the Lobster Academy will become a crucially important educational resource for our customers and we hope that you will join us for the next one.
